Key Responsibilities
- Culinary Operations: Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards. Manage all functions of the Food Production and Stewarding operations.
- Kitchen Management: Work closely with kitchen staff to coordinate and execute orders efficiently. Monitor and manage food quantities to minimize waste.
- Knowledge & Trends: Maintain comprehensive product knowledge including ingredients, equipment, suppliers, markets, and current trends.
- Safety & Maintenance: Work safely around kitchen equipment and report any maintenance issues to the Head Chef/Manager.
- Safeguarding (Crucial): Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation. Act as a key source of support regarding safeguarding policies and ensure their implementation in every course of action.
Required Qualifications
- Education: SSC (Secondary School Certificate).
- Preferred: A Culinary degree or relevant professional certification will be considered an added advantage.
Skills & Expertise
- Strong understanding of various cooking techniques and kitchen equipment operation.
- Deep knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Ability to accurately follow recipes to ensure consistency in high-quality dishes.
- Excellent time management to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work as an effective team player.
Experience Required
- At least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience working as a Cook in a restaurant or similar professional kitchen environment.
