Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Oversight: Lead the end-to-end acquiring/merchant transaction monitoring process, ensuring secure and compliant operations across all channels.
  • Rule & Scenario Implementation: Design, implement, and refine fraud detection rules, scenarios, and thresholds to identify suspicious activity.
  • Compliance & Policy: Ensure all monitoring activities are in line with Bangladesh Bank guidelines, international card scheme rules (e.g., Visa, Mastercard), and internal risk policies.
  • Coordination & Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Fraud Risk, AML, Compliance, IT Security, and Operations, to strengthen overall prevention and detection capabilities.
  • Analysis & Reporting: Monitor merchant activity, analyze transaction trends, and prepare detailed MIS/risk reports and dashboards for senior management and regulators.
  • Incident Management: Lead incident investigations, conduct root-cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Mentorship & External Liaison: Mentor and develop the monitoring team and act as a key liaison with regulators, law enforcement, and card schemes as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Business Administration, Management, Banking, Computer Science, Accounting, or a related discipline) from a UGC-approved university. A postgraduate degree is an advantage. No third division or equivalent CGPA at any academic stage.
  • Experience: A minimum of 8 years of experience in the banking sector, with a strong focus on fraud, AML, or transaction monitoring.
  • Skills: Strong command of Microsoft Office, especially MS Excel, with solid record-keeping and report-writing skills.
  • Knowledge: A working knowledge of Bangladesh Bank regulations, card-scheme rules, and fraud/AML risk practices.

Skills & Expertise

  • Analytical & Problem-Solving: The ability to analyze large datasets, identify vulnerabilities, and effectively solve complex problems.
  • Compliance & Regulatory: Expertise in banking regulations and an understanding of international card scheme requirements.
  • Leadership & Communication: Strong skills in leading a team and presenting complex data clearly to senior stakeholders and regulators.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with banking software systems, database management, and building real-time dashboards is highly valued.

Experience Required

  • At least 8 years of professional experience, with a significant portion dedicated to fraud management and transaction monitoring within the banking or financial services sector.
